Rockgrove trial guide
Rockgrove is a trial introduced in the Blackwood Chapter in June 2021. Whether you are trying to clear this trial for the first time or looking for more advanced strategies or pushing for the Planebreaker title, this guide will help you.
Trash
Reaver
- Melee, for MT, taunt priority, gets stacked on ranged targets
- No cleave, very hard-hitting light attack (needs to be blocked)
- Debuffs armor on the target
- EARTHQUAKE: static AoE around the Reaver, damage ramps over time the longer you stay in it. MT dodges towards the group out of the AoE
Bloodseeker (Archer)
- Full-ranged, for OT, taunt priority. Stack on it, if no mages.
- TAKING AIM (interruptable ST one-shot), conal moderate damage staggering cleave, very hard-hitting light attack (18-22k)
- Jumps around
Soul-weaver (Mage)
- Melee/medium-range. Damage priority. Stack point (bring everything to it)
- No cleave, moderate light attack damage
- Casts meteors on 3 people, who get out of the group and block
- Casts ASTRAL SHIELD on targets in close proximity. The ward looks like a translucent bubble that absorbs damage and then returns it by shooting projectiles to the half of the group. Damage from projectiles can be dodged / absorbed / blocked. If multiple shields (3 or more) explode at the same time, damage is enough to “one-shot” DDs, so dodging is needed. The amount of shields cast is shown by the addon: Astral Shield (5) means 5 targets got affected: DODGE when shield expire!
Haj Mota
- Does 2 burrowing attacks, needs to be stacked on the archer, if taunted doesn’t really pose any threats
Butcher
- Melee, taunt priority. Damage priority
- No cleave, very hard-hitting light attack (block it!)
- EMBLAZONED STOMP -> IGNITE raid-wide heavy DoT. Stack and heal through
Barbarian
- Melee, taunt priority (give MT enough GCDs to taunt!). Damage priority
- No cleave, very hard-hitting light attacks (block it!)
- HASTED ASSAULT. Barb jumps to random people 5 times, hitting them. Lethal if not blocked
Torchcaster
- Melee, taunt priority. Damage priority
- Summons a PRIME METEOR within 10 meters of himself, that explodes if not killed, wiping everyone, so if it spawns, focus it down.
Oaxiltso

MT
- Hold the boss as steady as possible.
- Big self-heals when in the AoE
- Heavy-attack when the boss is jumping
- Chain frogs from the opposite pool, while blocking when the boss isn’t heavy attacking.
OT
- Annihilators (minis) have an aura around them. If other Annihilator / Main boss get in that aura, they enrage
- Keep Annihilator behind the group, close enough to the main to allow cleaving the main while pushing the mini, but not close enough for them to enrage, during the savage blitz too
- If you see the group dying to meteors, call out BLOCK when the mini heavies you
- Chain frogs from the nearest pool when mini is up, chain ALL frogs from the other pool when the mini is down
KH
- Center position, the group shouldn’t be in an invisible line between you and the main
- Use the right pool to cleanse Noxious Sludge (start running when projectile flies out of the boss)
- When you see the Blitz notification, sprint towards the boss and dodge through him when he charges
- If you have a lot of frogs on you, block-cast burst heal through it.
GH
- Stay next to the group, get out before Noxious Sludge.
- Don’t run to cleanse through the group.
DDs
- Stack up hugging the pool to avoid attracting Noxious Sludge.
- Make sure you’re not in a line between the main boss and the kite healer. If you see the main boss looking at you, step out of the way or dodge through him when he charges
- Priorities are on the picture
- Cleave classes and setups are highly recommended
- Block all the meteors (3 spawn after the mini heavy attacks the OT)
- Ignore the last mini
Flame-Herald Bahsei (non-HM)
MT
- Keep the boss turned away from the group. The scythe attack that applies the DoT on you, will one-shot DDs
- Keep an eye on the OT; if the Abomination dropped the AoE, move the boss clockwise to leave room for the next Abom. On non-hm it’s really easy to overcleave the main, and overwhelm the OT with Abominations
- The DoT is based on your max HP, so don’t overstack HP
- Call out “MT exploding in 3… 2… 1…” and if the curse goes towards the group, call it out too
- If you’re learning the fight, keep in mind that your healers will be away, so you will struggle with resources a bit more than usual. Call out if you need more healing, and have your own heals ready.
OT
- Abominations apply heavy bleed. The more aboms there are, the worse the bleed. If you’re playing it safely, ask the MT leave DDs more space.
- Aboms spawn at 90, 85, 80, 75, 70, 65, 60%
- Try to stack the AoEs as close to one another as possible, it will leave the group more space for later stages of the fight
- Taunt abominations as they spawn, there’s a grace period during the animation, later it will be too late. Taunt and sprint towards where your AoE should be.
- Chain-in archers. They cause panic in DDs
- Fire Behemoths apply a heavy fire DoT. Keep them on one side of the portal as they spawn and self-sustain through the DoT.
- If you’re learning the fight, keep in mind that your healers will be away, so you will struggle with resources a bit more than usual. Call out if you need more healing, and have your own heals ready.
Healers
- Keep an eye on both tanks, you need to be further from the main boss than all DDs and the OT to attract the curse.
- Burst self-heal through the DoT
- Blockcast through fire waves and ghost attacks
- Call out curses if they go towards the group
- After the explosions, run to the group and refresh ground-based HoTs
